Special - no. I couldn't find specs to know what they should look like and neither could my machine shop. I don't have any '91-'93 c900 factory manuals from which to draw specs, and couldn't find one.
Late last night I had a stroke of, um, brilliance and looked in my 1990 9000 manual... 1990 9000S = B234 which is the same head. Solved!
So here's a question:
Old B202 heads used a 49mm long guide
B212/B234 heads used a 45mm long guide
B2x4 "T5" "short" heads used a 42.5mm guide
The OD and ID of the guide is always the same.
Given the valve specs are the same (on the exhaust side, anyway), any guess as to why Saab changed the guide length three times across the three largely similar heads?
