All turbocharged SAAB 900 models employed the 228MM clutch starting in 1990 which was extended to 1993(Including the 1994 Convertible). All NA 900(Including 2.1L engine) retained use of the 215MM clutch, which were being manufactured up to 1993(Including the 1994 convertible).
The SAAB 9000 employed use of the 228MM clutch from 1986 to 1990. In 1991, the 2.3 liter engine was offered with the 240MM(9.5" design clutch although a change in ring gear size would not allow for direct installation onto the earlier 2.0 liter applications such as the 900 or 9000.
