When the OE accumulator is removed, turn it upside down. In the threaded neck is, or should be, a restrictor is installed. It will have a small hole in the center, and if you look at the threaded portion from the side, you will notice a couple of half moon shaped relief cuts as well. This must be removed from the OE part and installed into the new accumulator. Thing is, the opening in the OE part that receives the restrictor is larger than the opening in the replacement part. The restrictor must be made smaller in order to fit into the new part. Careful filing of the restrictor, about 25 minutes worth, will remove enough material to allow it to be installed into the new accumulator.
Also, there is an o-ring at the base of the threads which must be installed on the new part as well. Do not overlook that.
This new accumulator does not have an allen key lug on the top, like the old one does, for tightening or loosening. Once installed, the new part must be tightened using some other means. I used a large pair of channel lock pliers to achieve this. You see what I mean when you go about performing this repair.
It takes some time for the new accumulator to be pressurized, but it will pump up just fine. You now have a truly brand new accumulator installed, that works just like the original. The brakes will feel powerful and yet easily modulated again, just like Saab intended.
