BJens,
Thank you for posting at TSN!
With installation of a fuel pump replacement being the last thing done prior to your cold start symptoms, you might look for a minor fuel leak at the pump to fuel line to pump outlet. If any minor loss of fuel is found at this connection, the fuel will slowly loose pressure after the engine is turned off. Many shops prefer employment of a high pressure rubber fuel line and two hose clamps to replace the OEM nylon fuel lines which have the tendency to leak when altered. The one way check valve is typically not tampered with when installing the fuel pump insert, unless this is the pre-1990 900.
Best of luck relative to your project, and please contact us until 6PM EST if there should be any questions!
Sincerely,
Gary K. at SWEDISH DYNAMICS, INC.
