I managed to bring my 92 non-turbo automatic back from storage, about a 120 mile trip. I had trouble 3-4 times on the trip where it would sputter and slowly die, but it smoothed out and got me home okay.
This morning it is doing the same thing. It will start but after 15 seconds or so, the engine speed slowly diminishes until it dies.
I put in 2 cans of Heet and some fresh gas from the station, but that doesn't seem to have helped. I can keep it going for a little longer by revving it up, but eventually it does the same thing. I'm wondering if it could also be the fuel pump.
I also repaired the positive battery cable which had a new clamp put on without securing it. That fixed the erratic fuel gauge for a while but now it's not reading at all. Could they be related?
