Tranny/clutch Question... Posted by Jake [Email] (#225) [Profile/Gallery] (more from Jake) on Mon, 02 Oct 2000 16:22:04 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
89 900, 5-speed tranny... When the car is cold, it seems like the clutch engages quite close to the floor.. When the car warms up, it seems to catch 1/3 of the way up, or almost 1/2 way up.. Occasionally, however, it will engage again only a couple inches off the floor. The clutch used to do this all the time, but I had the master cylinder replaced a few months back, and it fixed it for the most part, but it still does it occasionally.. Is this a sign of a bad slave cylinder?
On the other hand, the tranny has started to be quite notchy shifting gears, even when warm now... I adjusted the linkage using the townsend site (put in 3rd, loosen pinch bolt, put something in hole, tighten pinch bolt).. That seemed to help occasionally, but most of the time it still shifts notchy. I've had Redline in the tranny for about 20,000 miles now. Should I try changing my tranny fluid to try and fix the shifting? and if so, should I flush a few times with redline ($$$)?
Thanks,
Jake
