A warm up is not required or recommended. As soon as the car is running smoothly, drive GENTLY away. Continue driving gently until the engine is up to temperature. At shut down, a cool down is very important. The length depends on how you have been driving. Just coming off a rally stage, the turbo will be at 900F plus. A long idle time is necessary. Pulling into the driveway after puttering through neighborhood streets for the last 5 miles, a 5 second delay is all that is required.
