You guys don't really understand how this works. Just getting a bigger turbo WILL NOT make you flow more cfm (cubic feet per minute) of air. What determines how many cfm you CAN flow is your engine (the heads, displacement, rpm). That is why bigger displacement, improving the flow of the heads (manifold, etc.), and increasing the RPMs makes more power. Running a certain amount of boost (psi) will also flow more cubic feet per minute. Basically, a turbo has a certain efficiency range that it can spin at. If your engine can flow a lot of cfm, then you would need a really big turbo to run a high boost pressure, and that would mean a whole lot of cfm. But if you have a stock motor that is very limited on how many cfm it can flow, then a smaller turbo would be able to run the same high boost, only it wouldn't flow as much cfm (if boost was the same but stock motor vs. high flow motor). Everyone always talks about sticking a huge turbo on their car so they can get more cfm and more power: THIS IS WRONG. Unless you have already maxed out your stock turbo, either by modifying the engine so that it can flow more air or by running higher boost pressure (or both), then the only thing a bigger turbo will do is make your turbo-lag bigger.

As for running 30 psi, I seriously doubt the stock T3 could do that without superheating the air, it would have to spin too fast (out of its efficiency range), especially if you have this motor built to flow more air (headwork, etc.). You definately need a higher flow turbo. You could tell of course, by sticking on the stock turbo and starting with a low boost pressure, then adding boost in small increments. By taking air temperature readings, you could tell at what psi the compressor simply can't keep up, and starts to super heat the air. To go past this psi, you would need a higher flow turbo.

Sorry to rant, but I have not heard anyone say this simple truth on here, everybody seems to misunderstand how this works. Hopefully this will clear things up.
