Hi, my first posting just after my Saab died... :-( Wanted to find out
more about whether his death was perfectly predictable given the circumstances, or instead, if the car had been OK, it shouldn't have happened... Here is the story:
I left my Saab 900 SPG (1986) on top of a hill, flat part. Because the
reverse is sometimes hard to enter, and I was just going to park for 2
minutes to pick up a friend, I didn't put the reverse. Then, we took her
car and I left mine there (forgot that the car was in neutral). When we came back, the car was not there. It had slided down the hill (about 30 yards), and stumbled into another car and a wall. The car is totalled!
The car just had a major service (complete tuneup) the week before, at
the Saab Dealer. Should they have detected something wrong with the car?
Could I ask them any guarantees/responsability for it? Or do you have
to expect this to happen if you leave the car in neutral?
Thanks!
