?? Why is stick shifting so tight and rough??

My 900 manual is getting hard to shift. All gears are hard to get into. The problem seams to get better as the car warms up. Do I need a linkage adjustment, or a new tranny. If I haven't explained enough, please email me. Thanks for your help, Chris. cgo70@hotmail.com
