sorry....buku busy. I do not like the idea of cutting the head for o-rings. esp if it is custom ported etc. Aluminum is soft and will deform under the stainless wire. over time i do not know what the prognosis is. it is also more expensive. Orings do a couple of things, first it creates a very thin band of a very high pressure seal around the pistons. second it prevents gasket creep. what happens is that the head deforms at combustion and gases blow between gasket and surface ultimately forming an area of seepage. it is a big job to do a copper gasket right. you have to anneal, o-ring, and mask the gasket off in the chain and oil return areas. in those areas you can use ultra gray. actually ultra grey is best sealer if not oringing. apply very thinly and torque to 10 pounds. then retorque the next day. slow even torqueing is critical for copper gaskets. An oem gasket will work for a while. i'd use it until next time, add your tweaks and redo the head gasket later. I do all my own work so i am fortunately not at the mercy of the mechanics. I use SS .041 wire in a .038 by .030 deep groove .125 inchs from bore.
send q's to my e-mail
later.
