others have done it. M84 is .84 overdrive
using a .78 from a normal 16V-T, a least thru M89, will increase speeds 8%, reduce torque to gearbox the same, and make speeds the same as the 16V-T.
the spg's from M89 on appear to use a .72 sprocket ratio. This would be a 17% change .... too much unless you do salt flats or auto-bauns(sp).
My 8V-T has a 40 trim compressor. The 16V-T is a 45 trim, a much better design for higher hp levels.
