I drive a 90 900 non turbo. I have autocrossed this car for tree years now with outstanding results. My suspension is not stock, the springs are intrax and the shocks are bilsteins. The springs are aprox. 25% stiffer allowing the car a flat cornering stance. Remember if you change springs you are no longer in the stock catigory, the bump into a higher class means bigger compitition. This brings us to the tires. If you want to compete get a set of hoosier autocross tires (205 50 15). I have won nearly half the races I attended this season (I believe 4 of 9 races). If you wish to stay stock then go only with the shocks, they will dramaticly improve the handeling. If yoou do get springs then you must get performance shocks or the stock ones will be overpowered and the car will bounce to much resulting in a loss of traction. The most important thing in autocrossing is not power but handeling and getting that power to the ground. With my non turbo I have beat turbos because they didnot handle well. spend your money on suspension first then on other things to get the power to the ground then on go fast stuff. A light weicht flywheel and limited slip diff. do wonders. The autocross tires will take 4 seconds off you time, it all in the shoes.
