to me....this is....different (long)
Posted by Gary W (more from Gary W) on Mon, 9 Oct 2000 16:07:50

last Feb. bought a 84-900T, car had been somewhat neglected replaced entire brake system, (front&rear) couple b-joints and the usual tune up items wires et al.
As the weather warmed up in spring came to find out car ran hot and both fans were wired direct.Literally had to keep fans running, and heater contol
on atleast @ 1/2 inorder to keep guage at half even on highway.
This drove me crazy,no money for head job at the time (although car used no
coolant). To make a long story short an old guy who operated a rad.shop for years told me to pull t-stat and flush system gave me a gallonof a milky liquid he called a lubricant told me to add this and top off with water no coolant. Ran this way all summer noproblem. Last wk. weather cool drained and filled with coolant 60/40. Have run for a week with coolant & t-stat no need for fans and heater @highway speed just around town.Does anyone have any ideas as to why this apparently has cured itself. I know it sounds somewhat bizarre
