You can check the fuel pump by connecting a wire between fuse 27 and fuse 30 in the fuse box. You can leave the fuses in and use the contacts on the top of the fuses. The pump will run if it's OK. Is your battery voltage over 10 volts, should be nearly 12? Next step is to check for spark by pulling a plug wire and connecting it to an old plug gapped to 4mm ie big gap, and grounding it to block while cranking. If spark is OK and tach needle bounces when you crank the engine, your ignition is problably OK. Then you need to chek the main and fuel pump relays and ground connections. They are inside the passenger compartment behind the right front kick panel just ahead of the door. To get at them you need to remove the sill cover to peel back the carpet in the footwell. You need a digital multimeter to check the ECM and the relays. see townsendimports.com technical doc on "LH2.2 no start" for complete trouble shoot.
If no spark problem is ignition, check condition of wires to distributor (hall effect sensor), 12 volts at coil with ignition on...again see townsendimports.com technical doc on "LH2.2 no start" for complete trouble shoot.
