**Leave the air bleed open** when you are refilling the coolant thru the resevoir tank. If you don't (you'll see air regurgitating into the tank), get many air pockets in the block, etc which turn to foam/air pockets when running and it takes forever to bleed that mess out.
When you've got the tank appropriately full, close the air bleed. Now start the engine and let it idle for a few moments to build up pressure. Open the air bleed again until you get a steady stream of fluid and then close it. Take the car for a spin of some duration, repeat bleeding, should be good to go.
