I kind of remembered you stating that. Ie larger turbo, more efficient, less psi, more power. Make sence. I wouldn't want to get a bigger turbo and then have the same amount of boost. I'm not sure how the durability with a higher flow turbo and hi psi. It would be fun briefly, but costly. I'm just planing on the day when the turbo decides to go south on me....
The camshafts I believe can be an area for some real hp. I know with my other experience that changing a cam make one heck of a difference. But I want it to be very streetable, and not stalling at lights, and the other problems with very large lifts.
The target hp I'm looking for is around 250hp. The mods currently on my 89 900 T with 89,000 miles are.
Stage II APC
K&N
Hi flow exhaust
24lbs injectors
RRFR
AID (not put on yet)
20 psi blow off valve
rebuilt tranny (no shocker here)
new head gasket
short throw shift kit (hope its in the mail)
The next items will be the larger red spg 9 injectors to override the boost cut off. Maybe their chip but I believe that I'll have that figured out with the larger injectors. I'd like to get the Paceo larger street grind camshafts, and either a Sperco intercooler or a water cooled intercooler from Abbott. Would help make the stock turbo work more efficient. I don't plan on winding the engine past 6k so larger springs really wouldn't be needed here. I'd like to be running a max of 15-18 lbs of boost, so not to tax the engine too hard. This is not my "drag" car, but I do want it to be able to realy hall when needed. I believe with these mods should get me to that 250 hp. And it should be very streetable and a good daily driver since I don't do any atomic clutch drops from 5k in 1st gear. But also be a real mountian screamer.
Thanks,
Bill in Denver
