I use ATE blue in my track car, and castrol lma in my saab.
In order, the valvoline synth, ate, and motul-600 have higher than dot4 wet and dry boiling specs. They are all glycol based synthetics. The last 2 exceed the dot 5.1 glycol specs for boiling, but don't comply with some color issues, etc. They are for race type braking down from 120+ mph to 40-50, ASAP, every lap.
These grades ( at least the last 2) usually absorb moisture quicker than the reg dot 3 and dot 4 stuff, and need purging a little more often.
dot5 is silicone based, kind of a pia to use, and not better in boiling resistance than the motul or ate. may be better in extreme cold.
unless you brake so hard you have to pump pedal to keep pressure, just go to pep boys and get castrol lma.
