I'm trying to order the same thing for my '88 9kt - haven't heard back yet.
Changing it is easy. The ECU is located in the false bulkhead in the engine compartment. Just lift up the plastic panel, remove the ECU, open it up, and swap the chip. Do so in a clean area, where you're properly grounded. It *is* a computer.
