speedo update, SRS light Posted by TML [Email] (#2212) [Profile/Gallery] (more from TML) on Tue, 15 Mar 2005 22:19:00 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
So I finally managed to get my speedometer changed over. Turns out the speedo from the '94 was compatible with my '97, it just happened to be broken. I now know a lot about that speedo, if anyone ever has a question. The '94 combination gauge (temp/fuel/boost) is NOT compatible with '95 and newer cars. And after much work, I discovered there is no way to make it so. The pins on the connector are different, the board is different, and even the meters themselves are different. I really wanted that fuel gauge that showed litres rather than quarters. Oh well.
As near as I can tell, the '94 EDU is not compatible either. Different part number, and didn't power up. So either that or it too was broken.
Which leads me to where I am now, with an SRS warning light. Is there a connector for the airbag in the vicinity of the instrument cluster, or is it just a coincidence that the SRS light came on while I was doing all this work in that area? Is there even a way to tell which airbag is causing the warning light?
