engine problem diagnosis Posted by Rob [Email] (#1828) [Profile/Gallery] (more from Rob) on Wed, 5 Oct 2011 14:11:43 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
While tearing down the engine, (1995 9k cs 2.3) I found that the front piston bearing at the crankshaft was gone- just a few foil thin remnants left.
I would like the rebuild to have a long life
What could cause this to occur? The head gasket was in perfect condition.
All oil passages have been pressure washed. I will inspect the oil pump tonight- after I get a pair of large ring pliers.
Also, what is your favorite way to clean all the varnish and carbon buildup off the inside engine components? Right now I am using simply green and a scrubbie. Wondering if there is a way to speed up the process.
