Our 1991 9000 has the DI/APC. Fortunately the door seals have held up very well on our car so no issues there. Beyond the item of potential rust on the rear shock tower, some other things to watch out for are the condition of the fuel tank straps (one on our 1994 9000 rusted out and broke), and also the sheet metal shield welded to the underside of the passenger compartment to help insulate the passenger compartment from the heat of the exhaust system. This shield partially rusted out on both our 1991 and 1994 9000s, necessitating having to have a partial sheet metal patch welded in.
We do not have any performance enhancements on our 1991 9000's engine. However at this past summer's Saab Owners Convention that car's engine tested out at 275 foot pounds of torque, and not at the factory spec of approximately 248 foot pounds! Horsepower dynoed out at close to the factory spec of 200 HP.
