The 9000s are relatively easy to mount driving lights to by doing the following:
1. Remove the front grill
2. Look behind the metal bumper area and you will see a number of torx fasteners inserted into the metal bumper from the rear side.
3. Obtain an appropriate size shelf bracket (in the shape of the letter L)from Home Depot/Lowes. You may then have to drill another hole in the bracket to get it to line up with the torx fastener hole in the bumper.
4. Fasten the vertical portion of the bracket to the bumper using the torx, or another appropriately sized, fastener.
5. Fasten the driving light to the horizontal side of the shelf bracket.
If you obtain the correctly sized bracket (re the length of the vertical side of the bracket) you will still be able to re-mount the grill on the car.
6. Re running the wiring for the driving light, there is a large grey rubber gasket behind the brake pedal where the steering column goes through the firewall. Pull this gasket partially aside to run the wires through for the lights.
Overall this is a relaively easy way to mount driving lights, and I have them on all three of our 9000s. Since the thickness of the shelf brackets may vary based upon their sizing, you may wish to use larger than required brackets and then cut them to fit. Using the larger, and thicker, bracket will reduce the level of movement of the driving lights. I have found that the Hella FF series of driving lights to be superb in terms of their performance.
Good luck on this project, the performance of the driving lights will make an incredible difference in your nightime visibility.
