You say nothing about a check engine light. Did you have one?

On most cars if a consistent miss is detected, the computer will shut down the cylinder that is missing to protect the cat from getting raw gas.

On restart, the cylinder is activated, and if a miss is detected again, the cylinder will be shut down again. Otherwise, you're good to go.

I can't say what caused your initial miss, but you were probably running on three cylinders. If it happens again, shut car down and restart. See if the miss/cylinder deactivation goes away.
