First thing I did after the tow was to request consultation with my indy. He is a Saab man through and through - and during the 45 minutes of his time via phone many POSSIBLE causes were discussed. Also - I have spent considerable time here searching - reading and re-reading info BEFORE posting my request for assistance days after the problem started. Ari's checklist remains open in my browser presently=> and if Ari was around I bet he'd have a few pointers to pitch in as well... My concern centers upon the intermittent nature of this problem. There's LOADS of great info here that I found all about chasing down a no-start; some of which has been a huge help to me in the past. After the car may quit again=> during whatever period within a definite no-start condition I may be able to apply those ideas. I am NOT tearing my car apart eleventy-seven times doing the parts-replacer routine IF it is instead possible to be better informed and avoid that useless sort of busy-work. In the meantime I am considering how it may be something simple (but perplexing) like an overheating IGN switch or FP relay. Therefore I ask 2 follow-up questions: 1. Has anyone here had a similar intermittent they resolved - and how, please ? 2. Is it OK to make a temporary, but full-time switched-on circuit jumpering power to the FP - bypassing the IGN sw., relay, etc. ? Thanks ! mark Posts in this Thread:
