It'll all have to come off to reveal the area where the lumbar support is, unless you want to slit thru the cloth hem that holds the U-shaped wire and cross wires to the front side, when you could in fact roll it up some.
Definitely better to have seat out of car to tackle this.
My first advice is visit all local u-pull junkyards and indys to try to track down a good seat cheap, instead.
