I removed the entire rear deck speaker mount/enclosure and found the foam surround on the 3" speaker (I assume to be midrange....) to be nearly all disintegrated. The paper surround on the 6x9 seems to be in fine shape. The little tweeter in the center of that is pretty small, and I can't see any deterioration in it from inspection. That little tweeter does twist out of its housing, and the capacitor is glued and wired in the on the outside. Its labeled as being rated at 3.3 mfd, 6.3 wv (working voltage, says google...) I have a capacitance tester, so I will see if its in range.
anyone know a good source for the thin paper covering glued on these guys?
I will look for sourcing the foam surround as well....
