Yep, I know the aero/cse differences. My thinking is this, though: the Aero manual map increases boost slightly, roughly 1 bar, while the stock CSE mapping puts it around .8 bar. I know I won't get the full 225 hp or torque, but since the ecu doesn't know which turbo is in the car, it'll just increase boost/fuel a little. Right? Since manuals all have the TD04, it'll say "oh, this is a manual car, thus having a larger turbo, and I'm supposed to allow higher boost and increase fuel". I've read about this a few times, I just can't find the posts.

I guess I was a little unclear: do all Aero ECUs have both manual and auto mapping? If so, since my CSE is a manual, it wouldn't detect the presence of an auto box, thus increasing boost to make some additional power. I've read figures that put the increase to about 210hp, and 245ft/lbs. Not a huge increase, but I do want a spare ECU so I can begin tuning, and with prices being about the same for an Aero or CSE ecu, why not give it a shot?
