Running the radiator fans via the EDU greatly stabilized the engine temperature since the EDU requires only a few degrees change in temperature to turn on or off the fans. Also the sensor in the engine gave a much more representative indication of engine temperature than a temperature switch in the cool end of the radiator. Originally I thought the EDU massaged the temperature gauge reading, but the EDU does such a good job of maintaining temperature stability the gauge is really showing pretty much what the engine temperature is doing.
IIRC the two engine temperature sensors resistance versus temperature are the same, with 70*F about 1000 ohms. Don't recall that removing either sensor was that difficult. The sensor between the intake manefold runners runs the fans. The electrical section of the shop manuals lists the resistance versus temperature, Mike Johnson has my old electrical manual and might chime in if he is not on rotation.
