I think they left something out when reassembling the valve assemblies. Perhaps the seating washer. If that is the case, then I doubt your valves could be bent. They would not have been pushed down sufficiently by the cam lobes to contact the piston, and even if they were pushed down sufficiently, by which I mean their usual full travel, they would only hit the piston crown if your timing were off. So I'll bet you have a good cylinder head with some missing parts. The question is whether you want to try to rebuild the valve assemblies with the cylinder head installed. I've read that this is possible if you use compressed air to keep the valve seated, so it doesn't drop into the cylinder when you remove the collets. If I were doing this, I would rotate the engine so that the particular cylinder I was working on was TDC, so if the valve fell, it wouldn't retreat entirely into the cylinder. Do all four valves for that cylinder, then move to the next. Sorry you're going through this.
