The waste gate actuator rod can be accessed from under the car. It's about 6 in. long and goes crosswise between the short waste gate lever on the turbo and the actuator. Some sort of a clip or wire holds the rod end eye on a pin in the lever. Most of the factory retaining clips have rusted off so who knows what has been used to hold the rod on. Do not twist on the rod, or the actuator maybe damaged. Removing the rod from the pin makes it like a N/A car, which in my experience was a little bit faster than a 92 N/A car. With the actuator rod disconnected the boost valve has no affect, and can be left connected, although disconnecting the electrical connector maybe a good idea to minimize heating of the valve.
