94 Aero ACC stuck on high after battery drain

My el-cheapo 94 Aero keeps sending me conflicting signals -- "I'm ready for retirement!" "No, I'm not, I just need another cheap fix!"
At any rate, the car in question lives with my parents as the 3rd car in Connecticut while I live in Brooklyn. Doesn't get driven a lot, because it's broken regularly, and also because the 2 other 9000s see more use. So the battery commonly gets drawn way down to below crank strength. Again this weekend while I'm up in CT. So, per usual, I jump started the car, and it runs like a champ. But the ACC unit, for the first time, is showing signs of being cooked. It will not respond to the temperature buttons. It's stuck on "HI". Blower fan functions fine, AC is cooling, but it's not adjustable no matter what I try. I've recalibrated, unplugged and replugged the ACC unit, all to no avail.
So, I think the ACC is done for. Any alternative views out there among the commentariat?
If it's dead, gotta consider whether it's time to let the car go. (At which point, look for the parts car listing in the classifieds!)
