Source for Hood Locks Posted by VC_saab [Email] (#142) [Profile/Gallery] (more from VC_saab) on Tue, 24 Jan 2017 20:47:59 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
Hi, folks
I'm looking for a hood lock, or at least the wire spring that goes in the hood locks, for a 1997 9000 Aero.
eeuroparts has these:
https://www.eeuroparts.com/Parts/142139/Hood-Lock-12785020/
And I bought a couple, but they appear to be set up with the pull cable running behind the lock rather than in front of the lock. So the lock from eeuroparts appears to open the wrong way. It is also much heavier built than the ones I have the car (probably a good thing, since one of my lock wires broke).
Has anyone found a better source for these hood locks that will work in a 9000 Aero? Or do you have a parts car you can strip one off of and sell me?
Or maybe clear up my confusion as to why the OEM lock appears to be built 180 degrees from what I need for the open cable to go in the front of the lock?
Thanks!
