I haven't had the problem of broken parts showing up but some of the "Genuine Saab" parts are actually repackaged items that Proparts, Uro, and other aftermarket vendors provide. I have no doubt that in some cases the OEM is either no longer in business or unwilling to make more of the parts.
What I usually do is check on Eeuroparts and see if country of origin is listed on both the Genuine Saab item and the equivalent aftermarket part when both are available. For example, I recently needed the plastic coolant pressure tank for my '97 CSE since the old one cracked. A Proparts replacement was listed as made in Taiwan, and for about $6 more a Genuine Saab part was made in Sweden. So I purchased the latter and it looks identical to what came in the car. (Actually I bought two since the tank in the '95 9000 looked dodgy as well.) I would say if both the Saab and the aftermarket part are both made in China or Taiwan or wherever, there's a pretty good chance they are coming out of the same factory. (How many factories would be churning out Saab 9000 parts at this late date?)
