Not all backing plates are the same! - Saabnet.com Bulletin Board
If you ever decide to replace the backing plate, keep in mind that this shield is caliper specific. For example, about a month ago I replaced the hub on my 92 2.3L turbo with the hub from one of our donor 9000's, an 86 2.0L turbo. I also installed the pristinish looking backing plate from the 86. Realized my mistake when the caliper wouldn't go on with the 86 plate on the hub. Ended up reusing the 92's rusty one. The 86 hub itself on the 92 works fine.
