I checked the green wire again and the connector did seem like the wire was breaking although still had many strands. I moved it around a little more and pulled on it and it finally did come apart, I crimped on another connector, boy was that a pain as the wire isn't very long. I had removed the new voltage regulator to look at the brushes and put the first voltage regulator back in as it looks to have at least half the brushes left. No voltage change when revved. I may try swapping voltage regulators again tomorrow and see what happens, it's supposed to be in the 20's. In a couple of days in the 40's so may wait. Thanks everyone
