Using your writeup to remove Alternator - Saabnet.com Bulletin Board
Noel been using your write-up to remove my alternator. Turns out on my '93 I could take the alternator out from the top easily after removing the upper engine mount bracket (body side of dog bone) on the shock tower. The upper PS bracket bolts were not reachable until I removed the alternator completely from the bracket so I checked to see if it would come out the top. I wonder if it was redesigned on '94-up. I had removed the PS pump but could not move it much and also removed the lower PS bracket bolts. Will be taking alternator to have it tested. "New" one supposed to be here next Tuesday. I may have this one fixed and keep as a spare since they are getting harder to get.
