The 9-5 is a 2003, now with 178K on it. Have done the F & R subframe bushings and it's my wife's DD. And we take it on trips to our second home, 1500 miles round trip, 12.5 -13 hrs each way.
It lacks some of the road feel of the 9K and the seats aren't as good (I have Aero seats in my '96 9K), but after having done the long ride several times with a bike and a Thule box on the roof, and once towing my sailboat, I have to admit it's a really decent car. Which is good, because it will be my DD before long when we move my wife into something else, maybe a Suby or a Venza.
I'll do some things to sharpen up the handling, and it will be OK. And the aging 9K will remain as a hobby car and good weather cruiser.
