Polyurethane Control Arm Bushings Posted by Bill Homer [Email] (#3427) [Profile/Gallery] (more from Bill Homer) on Mon, 5 Feb 2018 11:55:18 In Reply to: Re: SAS sway bar installation question..., Steven Mitchem, Sun, 4 Feb 2018 14:11:35 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
Where do you live? The reason I'm asking is that I believe that your satisfaction with polyurethane control arm bushings is weather dependent. I had poly bushings on my previous 9000 and after a couple of years the lube disappeared and they squeaked loudly in cold weather (Chicago winters) - something like driving a squeaky bed down the road. I liked the "tightness" and improved handling, but the noise killed the joy for me - went back to rubber bushings.
OK, you might say to yourself "I'll lube them up again when they start to squeak", but I doubt that will happen since lubing them is the same work as replacing them - and they will start squeaking in winter, which is not when you want to be under your car doing non-essential work.
