Thanks, James. I surely hope the ECU is OK, because testing it by the side of the road (on, worst case, stalled in the fast lane) would not be my preferred option. I hope the fact that both time the car re-started easily after a little time to cool down pointed to the CPS. ECU is another TLA to add to the list of possibles, however!
I do have a spare ECU (Abbott tuned) but getting it mated to the immobilizer would be a challenge for me
