Stuck passenger door lock? Posted by turrbo [Email] (#8) [Profile/Gallery] (more from turrbo) on Wed, 22 Aug 2018 20:11:33 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
I'm as stuck as my passenger side door lock right now. My passenger door stopped opening from the inside and stopped locking, so I finally took the time to take the panel off and get the lock guts un-rusted and lubed up. The interior handle now works great, but I can't for the life of me get the door to lock. The actuator works perfectly fine and I have disconnected the lock mechanism from it to rule that out.
The strangest part is this: I physically can't get the mechanism to move. I've had everything soaking in PB Blaster for 2 days now and it won't budge. If I apply enough downwards pressure on the lock mechanish with some channel locks, the door will actually unlatch. Same goes for outside - if I turn the key in the unlocking direction hard enough, the door will pop open.
Anyone ever run into this? Wondering if I need to just get some new (used) parts in there - everything was pretty rusty.
