grounding gremlins...maybe ?? Posted by vtsnaab [Email] (#26) [Profile/Gallery] (more from vtsnaab) on Fri, 19 Oct 2018 13:00:10 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
Hi Folks.
Last weekend I was able to locate & get a '97 Aero 5sp that is in moderately good shape - no big rust concerns, shock towers OK & it is parked at my mechanic's place until he has a chance to do a couple of repairs best done on a lift for me.
What I'll need to do myself is (hopefully) correct several annoying electrical problems - like the driver's seat being stuck in a really poor position - the mirror motors & central locking only working sporadically.
My primary question is this:
Since the affected stuff seems to all be on the driver's side, might there be a single grounding point involved that is giving these things fits ??
(And if so, some idea of where to find it will be hugely appreciated !!)
I'd also like to ask if anyone has any sort of list of the various grounding points scattered throughout these cars as that seems to be a fairly regular concern ??
I will be pulling the dashtop & getting into the under-dash area as well before this car is put back onto the roads, so if these systems are grounded within reach of those areas perhaps these will get a pretty easy fix ??
Thanks.
