Steven,
Thank you for posting at TSN!
The 2.3 liter engine is very common for modifications as these create additional torque, as compared to the 2.0 liter 9000 which was in production up to 1990.
The OEM SAAB/SACHS clutch was designed for the daily driven application, and all in 240MM for the 9000 2.3 engine between 1991 to 1998. One of the most common methods for achieving better clutch holding capabilities would see the employment of a 6 or 4 finger disc with a performance lining. The elimination of your current 360 degree clutch disc will generate additional force at each individual friction pad, and when installed, may provide a 40+% improvement to overall clutch holding capabilities...even with the OEM pressure plate.
Thanks again for posting at TSN, and we will be available Saturdays until 6PM EST!
Sincerely,
Gary K. at SWEDISH DYNAMICS, INC.
