'97 Aero clutch slave desperation ?!? Posted by vtsnaab [Email] (#26) [Profile/Gallery] (more from vtsnaab) on Tue, 9 Apr 2019 20:55:03 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
Howdy Folks.
Still have my '94 Aero - though its looking pretty pimply these days.
Thought I got lucky a little while back in finding a '97 Aero for sale at a nice price.
(I'll elaborate more about this car in another thread...)
Where things stand right now is that I have a car desperately in need of a clutch slave cylinder after 3 failed attempts at getting brand new, off the shelf parts which have ALL been defective from normally good sources.
Searching extensively has shown that basically all points offer the same cruddy, Asian made ProParts thing that is the cause of this consternation.
My (very appreciated) indie even tried making a rebuild.
All seemed well until after it was tested & allowed to sit a few days, then it also leaked.
Short of carrying around jugs of brake fluid & endlessly filling it until it fails altogether, no other options have been found for anything OTHER than yet another ProParts (likely defective as well...) replacement.
I am -NOT- ready for my Aero days to be finished & all out of ideas for what to do about this.
So I ask=>
Can anyone here point me at a better source for a '94 - '98 slave cylinder that is ABSOLUTELY NOT from ProParts, or, failing that - any other ideas of what to do about this very worrisome sitation ?!?
Thanks for any helpful replies !!!
