Hi Bill & thanks for jumping in here !!
The '94 Aero will most likely serve me best as a donor, having a known good engine & other parts - like the brake calipers, rotors & exhaust which are headed for re-use on the '97 soon.
The '94 undercarriage was still in amazingly good shape last time it was visible on a lift - but parts of the 'skin'...not so good.
(Also - for me - the endlessly leaky a/c system is a motivator.)
It is merely the desire to remain with an Aero for as long as possible which motivates this change because getting a car that may last me ~10 years may be all that I need, this time around - if you catch my drift.
We did discuss the reverse - using some parts from the '97 to rebuild the older car, but that seemed more laborious & sort of backwards.
(And...it actually came with a working a/c system.)
I actually also own a 2nd '97;
It is a CS that has barely been touched in the years since I bought it as a parts car - and that one will be stripped as far as possible, then sent upon its way ASAP.
The very next step in this process for all of this is to get the '94 moved to my indy's place, which was delayed by the effects of mud season, but now may be possible (his place is way out in dirt road country...).
The '94 has provided me with very good value in the ~12-13 years I've had it, starting right off with the road trip to Quasi's place in TN to get it & all the sheer joy of daily use through all sorts of weather in comfort.
That is how things stand right this minute...I'll post more as this all progresses.
Best Wishes to All !!
