ACC servo motor/blend door Posted by andtheHawks [Email] (#2527) [Profile/Gallery] (more from andtheHawks) on Fri, 31 May 2019 17:22:35 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
Concurrently with what looks like an intermittent power supply issue to my ACC unit, I just developed what appears to be a sticking blend door servo:
I am experiencing periods in which calling for air conditioning, (as far as the "LO" setting,) I am only getting undiluted, very hot heat.
--I can control the recirc function, as well as the fan speed and vent locations, but just have no control over temperature.
---There is an un-rythmic, constant, clicking sound from the servo, even once it pauses in a fixed position
---There are no fault codes from ACC nor Tech 2
----The interior temp sensor seems fine.
----I was able to verify by touch from the acc aperture (I had popped out the ACC unit) that the blend door DOES open and close....but struggles in the direction for cold air settings.
(It is extremely quick to move to setting when "HI" temp is called for, but when I call for "LO" it doesnt move right away, clicks like a beetle on its back, and then eventually gets moving, (or doesnt, and i turn ignition off and try again until it does....)
-I havent had time to observe from the aquarium tank side, to see if there is some mechanical binding going on?
should I test anything else? or look for a new servo now? or can this one be salvaged somehow?
-Have read of issues where there is no movement, and issues where the lever arm is somehow disconnected from servo, but have not found in a search anything like this intermittent ability to move, or rather a struggle to move in one direction...
