My sunroof has been pretty good leak-wise. Even in the recent torrential rains that caused major flooding in this area no water got inside the car and the headliner stayed dry. (Fortunately we're on high ground and had no damage.) Chances are the foam seal had been flopping around in there for a while before it finally wedged between between the panel and the car's roof.
Obviously instead of waiting for the next rain I can check for leaks with a garden hose.
