Mostly following up to report that I was able to source rebuilt calipers from Autopart International in my local town. In case anyone else out there is looking. I think these guys are mostly a Northeastern outfit, and I've had good experience with them for a variety of foreign car bits over the years. I normally go to eEuro or another of the Saab specialists, but these guys are right down the hill.
I inspected them and they looked whole and clean, no sign of damaged bleeders or the like. But unfortunately, that's as far as I got, because the metal brake line is extremely rusted. So rusted, in fact, that the flats of the nut were plumb missing from one side.
A shame, but that is the end of the Aero for me. It runs and shifts and steers like a champ, but will never be a show car. But not bad, I got almost 7 years out of this car after resurrecting it from a life of neglect.
Down to our last 9000 now -- my parents' green 98 CSE.
