Frankie,
Thank you for posting at TSN!
SAAB did employ the GARRETT TB025 turbocharger for all 9000 models after 1990 although these employed various compressor wheel trim sizes dependent on engine output. All 900 between 1994 to 1998 plus the 1999 9-3 employed identical TB025 turbochargers, and these would have the same compressor wheel, turbine wheel, housing A/R ratios, etc. as the 200 horsepower 9000(CSE). The bearing housings on both applications have different water jacket portal size which would not allow for immediate installation of a 900 to 9000 application, or vice versa, without modifications.
Many performance minded customer's opt to employ the 9000 Aero(With manual transmission) MITSUBISHI TD04HL-15T turbocharger as this allows for simple integration. Engine performance will not show gains, however, unless matching modifications to ECU, exhaust, etc. are employed.
Thanks again for posting at TSN, and please let us know if you should have any questions!
Sincerely,
Gary K. at SWEDISH DYNAMICS, INC.
