...even though I wasn't in the mood. I need serious meditation and psyching days before the ordeal, and this time I failed to do it--but it got done. Like beating your head against the wall, it feels good when you're finished.
My ritual consists of an engine cleaning with Gunk, interior and exterior rubber and plastic wipedown with Armor-All (including door insulation), NuFinish paste applied with an orbital buffer, and Lexol cleaner and conditioner for the leather. Like your's, it is pretty impressive if I do say so myself.
Pure carnuba wax is probably unsurpassed for a deep shine, but doesn't last like synthetics according to CU's recent tests. I also have a black Aero, and the streaking problem has been eliminated here by making sure the surface is not hot during application of either polish or detailer. I made sure to do the hood and top early this AM while the surface was cool, as that's where I've experienced most of the streaking problems. Also, applying Armor-All to plastic and rubber exterior surfaces before wax/polish will insure that you won't get white blotches or streaks. Other silicone-based protectants should work as well.
